    Margaret from MD Asked

Traveling to Disney World at the end of October with husband and 24 year old daughter and have made a dinner reservation for Boma. However, my daughter is extremely picky eater. Is there a menu, that you can order from, too?

    Welcome BACK, Margaret!

My husband is a picky eater. Our first trip to Walt Disney World Resort together, he ordered a Chicago Hot Dog from Casey's Corner in Magic Kingdom Park, "but without any of the stuff on top."

Boma - Flavors of Africa is the largest buffet at Walt Disney World Resort offering no fewer than 50 selections at any time. While I was a bit leery at first, as I don't do spicy nor did I really know what I was committing to, I'm happy to report that the buffet is comprised of more than just cultural dishes.

In addition to African items like traditional soups, curry, hummus and pita, spiced chicken and bobotie, there are more American options, like a classic salad bar, a fruit station, a carving station with strip loin, salmon with an orange-almond rice, and a mashed sweet potato dish called Fufu. There's even a station for kids and those who are only there for the desserts that serves chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, plain pasta with marinara and meatballs, and baked chicken legs. If you're not stuffed from all of those, you will be after the dessert bar. Tarts, cookies, cupcakes, bread pudding and more. And of course, zebra domes, for which Boma is famous.

While Disney Buffets and Family Style meals don't have a separate menu to order al la carte items, you should be able to make a special request from the items that are available. Like a fresh piece of salmon that hasn't touched the orange rice. Pro Tip: I like to read Disney dining location reviews before we visit, to make sure my husband will find something he likes. My favorite is Disney Food Blog; a few of their writers are former Disney Parks Moms Panelists! They have wonderful reviews, including one with many pictures of Boma's offerings. Check it out, your daughter might just see something she likes.

We'll See You Real Soon, Margaret!
