Traveling to disney world again but this time we want to explore different resorts. from AoA and POR which one would be best? I have 2 kids ages 5 and 8. but i want to make sure we are doing the right move to upgrading from Pop our home away home place.

    Hi Monica!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! I love that you have a "home away from home" favorite location! Isn't it wonderful when you find a resort that feels like home? We felt the same way about the All Star Movies Resort and we stayed there four years in a row. We finally felt that we needed to explore additional resorts, and we found that we loved many Disney resorts and we were happy that we decided to experience all that Disney World has to offer. We found that our "home" was Disney World and no matter what resort we chose, we felt like we were "home".

The Art of Animation Resort (AOA) is absolutely wonderful! You will love it for your family because it offers a family suite with a separate master bedroom. It also has a kitchenette, which is great for preparing meals at the resort. We like to prepare our own breakfast and have a place to pop popcorn and make coffee. The living room also offers a place to all sit together and enjoy family time. Art of Animation has the largest pool of any Disney resort! They also have a great food court, arcade and movies by the stars.

Port Orleans offers a ton of recreation options, such as horse drawn carriage rides, surrey bike rides and fishing.

If your family would enjoy a larger family suite, with a kitchenette and likes swimming and the arcade, I highly recommend AOA. However, if your family enjoys having a ton of recreation options outdoors and plans to spend time at the resort, consider Port Orleans.
