We are traveling to Disney in June and are doing the Fantasyland early hours but then have tickets for lion king the same day. What is best way to travel between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom? Would it pay to do the preferred parking?

Hello there, Margaret! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for reaching out and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Disney Early Morning Magic - Fantasyland is a great way to maximize your time in the parks while also beating the summer heat that Central Florida is famous for! This event combines experiencing select attractions with an all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast. Guests attending this event will also encounter lower wait times due to the limited number of tickets sold. This is also a great way to snap pictures of the entire family in popular photo locations without having to dodge other Guests!

You will definitively want to develop a plan to arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in a timely manner from Magic Kingdom! Festival of the Lion King is located towards the back of the park so it will also take a few minutes to walk there after entering through the main gates.

Preferred Parking is one way of expediting your travel time between parks! Preferred Parking spots are located closer to the main entrance of the parks so you will not have to walk as far to reach your destination. However, keep in mind you will need to take a form of transportation from Magic Kingdom to the Ticket and Transportation Center to make it back to where your vehicle is parked!

I would suggest utilizing the Minnie Van Service to quickly get from one park to another! Minnie Van Service is a personal ride service operated by friendly Disney Cast Members. All you need to do to use this service is to download the Lyft app and request a Minnie Van from within the app. Minnie Vans can also pick-up and drop-off directly in front of the park’s main entrances so you will not need to account for travel time to and from your vehicle!

Hopefully, this information will help you make the most of your day visiting Walt Disney World Resort!
