    I am traveling to Disney with my husband and 2 children 7 & 10. I want to know (honestly) the best place to stay---moderate resort or value resort--and which one of those. Want clean, friendly and just great! Thanks in advance----first trip EVER!

    Rhonda,

    OK, so here is where I would stay with a 7 and 10 year old, by resort class, and why;

    Value Resort: Pop Century
    I like the lake side location. It makes the resort seem less like a ton of buildings wedged in between parking lots. Not that you are going to do any water sports there, but it does result in a lower ambient noise level than at the other three All-Star Value resorts.  Also, the more central location (with respect to the entire Walt Disney World property) makes it a bit better in the transportation department.

    Moderate Resort: Port Orleans Riverside
    Having boat access to Downtown Disney is a nice plus that can also help with expediting any resort-to-resort travel you may have for meals. The resort ambiance offers more to do and explore for your kids as well, and that is a plus. The dining/entertainment at the resort (all G-rated) also make for a bit more family-friendly of a setting.

    When it comes to deciding between Value vs. Moderate, for me then it is all about budget. But I do try to move up the moderate if at all possible.

    I am glad to answer any specific follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
