Hi! We are traveling to Disney at the end of the month with our 18 month old son. should we bring a car seat (we are flying) and staying at the Grand Floridian? we are staying 4 days, 3 nights, should we get a three day park pass or 2day?

    Hi Donna,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am pleased to greet a fellow North Carolinian! Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is one of my favorite resorts and will be perfect with your son because of the easy access to the Resort Monorail.

Car seats do add a layer of safety when traveling with little ones. I assume you have checked with your airline to explore what their regulations and procedures are for car seats. When our girls were nine months old, I flew with them and did not take our car seats. Instead, I used car seats from a rental car company. I was not entirely happy with those rented car seats, however. No one from the rental car company could help us install the car seats. Fortunately, we made it for that trip!

Since you are flying and staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you may not need to travel by car during your vacation. As long as you remain on Walt Disney World property, you can use the Walt Disney World Bus Service, Water Transportation and Resort Monorail and your son would not have to use a car seat. For more information, please review this response about Disney's Magical Express transportation.

Donna, of course you will make the decision that is best for your family. We love Walt Disney World Resort transportation. If you do not bring the car seat and need to travel off property, there are options for obtaining a car seat - request one with a rental car company, Uber or with Minnie Van service - just review the car seat rules for each!

Finally, I suggest a three-day park ticket with visits to Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Happy Planning!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
