Hi!! We r traveling with 9 (my dh and I, ds(6), dd (11mnths), my mom and dad, my 2 brothers, and my sister. We r trying decide between CS or POFQ. This will be first trip for mom, dad, and sister, so I want it to be special. Thanks so much!!

    Leah:

Traveling with a large party is a big responsibility, and I know you want to make it special!

I've stayed at both Coronado Springs and Port Orleans and both have totally different theming.  When I think of Coronado Springs, I envision a resort that I might find in Southern California or Arizona.  The stucco buildings surround a large lake, perfect for long walks, and its pool area sports a sophisticated if not exotic aura with a Mayan temple towering up out of the pool.

Port Orleans: French Quarter offers a more quaint and cozy feel than Coronado Springs or its sister Port Orleans: Riverside as it sits on the Sassqagoula River.   The pool's Mardi Gras slide seems more theme-park but the rod-iron throughout adds the romance.  Its leg up over CS: a boat to Downtown Disney, giving it vast more options for dining, entertainment and shopping.  Although my favorite food court on all of WDW property is Coronado Springs' Pepper Market, the boat ride to Downtown Disney opens up another world of not only dining possibilities, but sights as well.

If you want an upscale resort feel, choose Coronado Springs; for a vacation that is more on-the-go, choose French Quarter.  Either way, you'll come out a winner!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
