Traveling with another couple & requested connecting rooms. Are the chances better to get connecting if we check in in person or can we do online check in without decreasing our chances of connecting?& must we do online check in at the same time?

    Hi, Robert!

Rooms are assigned pretty much before you arrive, so I suggest you make your request ahead of time. Call a Disney Reservationist at (407)W-DISNEY with reservation numbers for both travel parties.  Have the reservations linked and request connecting rooms.  (You will still have separate reservations, this will just indicate you are traveling together.)

Up to 10 days in advance, you can do your on-line check-in.  Each travel party will do their own check-in process.  Make sure to coordinate though - it will ask your room preference.  It would get confusing if you requested connecting rooms, but one party requests "close to transportation" and the other "close to pools!"

As a reminder about 4-5 days before arrival, send a friendly fax directly to your resort with a note:  attention Room Assignments.  Include both reservation numbers and note your request for connecting rooms.

Even after all this, there is no guarantee of room requests.  However, I have always been impressed with how hard the Cast Members work to get you exactly what you ask for.   I hope you get just the room you want and have a great vacation with your travel pals.  Enjoy!
