I am traveling April 2018 on 3night on Dream. I am trying to decide between the larger inside room and the balcony. My boys will be 9 and 6 and I heard great things about the magic porthole but my parents will have a balcony room. Thoughts?

Welcome aboard, Lea! Congratulations on getting ready to book your first sailing with Disney Cruise Line!

Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the staterooms on the Dream. But, the two you're considering are completely different, with pluses for each. If you choose the Inside Stateroom with the Magic Porthole, you'll save a ton of money because it's usually much less expensive than a Verandah Stateroom. Since this is a short three-night sailing, I don't think you'll be spending all that much time in your stateroom, except to sleep, since there are such fun activities, and three nights isn't enough time to do it all! I'm sure you'll be out with your boys around the ship enjoying everything that Captain Mickey has to offer, and like my kids, by the time it's bedtime, we barely make it back to the stateroom before they fall fast asleep! They'll love the fun Disney friends that visit them in the Magic Porthole too, so that's a real plus!

Now, the Oceanview Staterooms with a Verandah on the Dream are much roomier and offer that verandah space, which is super nice for Mom and Dad to spend some extra time catching up after a long day once the kids are already asleep. My family and I also love ordering breakfast from the 24-hour Complimentary Room Service menu and enjoying it on the verandah to begin our Disney day! The kids also sit out there with milk and cookies from Room Service at night before they go to bed if they're not completely wiped out by then! Book a connecting stateroom to your parents and have the door inside to go back and forth. Your stateroom host can also fold back the verandah partition to connect the two verandahs making it one larger space to share.

Two great options, Lea! Good luck choosing, and have fun planning!
