Pluto with children on Main Street

I will be traveling alone with a 5 yo, 3 yo, and 11 month old to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. I understand there are some restrictions on rides as my 5 yo can’t ride by himself. What rides will I be able to do with all three kids?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lisa! visiting Magic Kingdom with my young kids is the best way to watch magic come alive for them!

You are right that “toys” under age 7 need a buddy (one that’s 14 or over) to ride with. That means that there are many attractions you won’t be able to experience, but plenty of rides and shows that you can enjoy. Within Magic Kingdom, you’ll find Pirates of the Caribbean, Small World, The Riverboat and Jungle Cruise, which are all boat rides seating 4+ folks in a row. You can also treat your kids to rides on People Mover, Peter Pan (with lap infant), Journey of The Little Mermaid, and Peter Pan’s Flight, since these rides can seat 3-4 in each vehicle depending on guest size. You shouldn’t have issues with your kids, though I find that my baby girl doesn’t fit on my lap at The Haunted Mansion; the bar comes down too far for her comfort. The Walt Disney World Railroad and the Carousel of Progress will easy to ride with your family of littles and your kids will love the shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios like Beauty and The Beast, Disney Junior LIVE and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The Star Wars Launch Bay will stretch your legs, but I’m afraid there aren’t any rides that can accommodate more than 2-3 folks on a bench that are also appropriate for your kids ages. Be sure to check back in 2018 when Toy Story Land is complete to visit the Aliens.

Be sure to download My Disney Experience to find all the character meet and greets as well as show times so your family can find the best schedule for fun, and you may want to create FastPass+ reservations for your party so you can get to the fun faster. Have a swell visit, and we’ll see ya real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
