Traveling with 6 adults and 3 children, Where should I start for rooms and are you able to make meal reservations for a group of this number? Planning for October 2018. Thanks!

    Hi Leah,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so happy to see that you are planning early!

When traveling with a large group, I always start with knowing each person's budget. Once we have decided on how much everyone can spend, I select our resort hotel. My family has stayed in moderatedeluxe and deluxe villa resorts. Though moderate resorts are more affordable than deluxe or deluxe villa resorts, we love the amenities at the deluxe and deluxe villa resorts. At Disney's Contemporary Resort, we prefer the standard Garden Wing, Garden View room that can sleep five with two queen-sized beds and a daybed. On our first trip with our girls, we also took my parents and stayed at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in a two-bedroom suite which could sleep eight adults.

Once you select your resort hotel, decide how many days you plan to visit the theme parks. On a six night/seven day trip, we typically get six-day park tickets. Your final immediate decision will be whether or not to purchase a dining plan. My family loves the Disney Dining Plan or the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. When we purchase a dining plan, I have a much better estimate of the amount of money we will spend on food. As long as you have a My Disney Experience account and have connected everyone to your "Friends & Family List," you can make dining reservations (online or by phone) and Fast Pass+ selections for everyone. Just be sure that your resort hotel and theme park tickets are linked in your My Disney Experience account.

Leah, I hope this is enough to get you started!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
