Greetings and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julia, I’m so glad you reached out to us and thank you for your question!
In consideration of my cognitively disabled teenage son, I empathize with your situation. I have found, however, that Walt Disney World Resort continually strives to afford all Guests an enjoyable and immersive visit both with the assistance of helpful, approachable and friendly Cast Members and through the guidance of
Services for Guests with Disabilities.
My son is a tall teen, with a cognitive level of a young child, so when I take him to attractions for smaller children, I find that by speaking to a Cast Member, often, accommodations keeping his and the interest of other Guests in mind are given, to the enjoyment and satisfaction of all. In dealing with many Cast Members, I have discovered that many have experience in dealing with special needs Guests and are always willing to make our visit easier and more enjoyable. Please do visit the interactive shows, I am confident a Cast Member will endeavor to afford you and your friend a positively memorable time.
May I offer
Disney’s Attraction Details guide for your reference in preparation for your visit? It offers a brief, graphical synopsis of all the attractions from the perspective of Guests with special needs. As well, may I offer customized planning with
My Disney Experience for Advanced Dining Reservations, FastPass+ Planning and more, to optimize your visit.
I sincerely hope this information is helpful, Julia and we would be honoured to assist you again soon.
Jacqueline
