Does travel insurance offered by Disney cover air fare booked directly with a carrier? Or would I need a separate travel policy to cover our air fare?

Hi Kristin!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I'm glad to hear you are planning another trip to Walt Disney World Resort.  I am happy to help you with your question about a Travel Protection Plan for your Disney vacation.

Benefits of the Travel Protection Plan include providing a refund for the prepaid, non-refundable travel package, as well as the cost of airfare scheduled within 7 days of your travel package. (Your arriving and departing flights must be within 7 days of your check-in and check-out dates.)  I just spoke with a representative from the program administrator, Aon Affinity, who confirmed for me the airfare is covered under the plan whether purchased as part of your Disney Resort Hotel Package or purchased separately from the air carrier. You may purchase the Travel Protection Plan by selecting the "Add Travel Protection" option when reserving your vacation, or add it to your reservation by calling 407-939-1936.  I recommend reviewing the specific terms and conditions of the plan.

I hope that helps!  Please feel free to visit us again if you have further questions.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
