Tree of Life at Sunset

What transportation is available from the Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom?

    Hi Cynthia,

My family seldom spends a day at Walt Disney World without hopping between at least two parks. We love spending part of our day on one experience and then enjoying a whole different vibe for the afternoon or evening.

Walt Disney World's free transportation makes this possible without negotiating parking lots or driving. To get from Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom, simply make your way to the bus station outside the Magic Kingdom gates. A bus directly from there to Animal Kingdom should arrive about every 20 minutes. The ride to Animal Kingdom takes between 15 and 20 minutes.

When you are finished at Animal Kingdom, you can catch a bus to your resort or to another park or Disney Springs. (Buses from the theme parks to Disney Springs operate after 4 p.m.)

I'm so happy you are planning to visit Animal Kingdom later in the day and hope you stay until the sun goes down. After dark, the new Pandora -- The World of Avatar takes on a bioluminescent glow. Other areas of the park vibrate with lights, music and energy. Don't miss the Tree of Life Awakenings, the Rivers of Light show or the Discovery Island Carnivale. And attractions like Kilimanjaro Safaris and Expedition Everest take on a whole new feel at night.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cynthia. Please check back if we can answer any more questions for you as you make your magical plans. Enjoy!

We live 90 miles from Walt Disney World and have visited frequently for 20 years. Disney is the place our family can relax together, try new things (especially interesting food) and have conversations, no matter what park we visit or where we stay.
