Are undercovertourist, touringplans, etc. based on actual attendance, or historical crowds? Our trip is 8/10-8/17 and while this week is listed as high attendance, I'm hoping it'll be quieter since it's right before free dining is offered. Any advice?

    Hi there, Kelsey!

While I can't speak specifically to these sites, I can offer some insight.

These predictive sites use a combination of historical data and adjustments for special circumstances. The more input, the more accurate.

The statisticians behind these sites will take into account vacation promotions, time of year, and so on. There are variables that cannot be addressed with 100% reliability - flight prices, gas prices, etc. - but for the most part, these sites tend to be reasonably reliable.

Summer time - June through Labor Day weekend - is generally considered peak season overall because of the number of families traveling to Florida. It's likely that free dining is not going to have much impact on a season that's already fairly high in attendance.

However, early August is the time when summer attendance starts to slide, so you should not see the peak levels of June and July.

Regardless, you're sure to have a wonderful time in the most magical place on earth!

    See you later, celebrator,
