Can you tour the 1st floor of the Magic Kingdom. You know, the underground part.

Yes you can, at least a portion of it. The underground part that you are referring to is called the utilidors and actually, as a tidbit of information for Disney trivia nuts like myself, are not underground at all. The utilidors are a massive set of corridors that were designed as a way for Disney cast members to manuever around the park unseen. Daily activities like deliveries, garbage disposal and more are going on right under your feet. These corridors are really the first floor of Magic Kingdom and were constructed by placing massive amounts of soil on top of the corridors to create a second floor and the Magic Kingdom we love.

Guests ages 16 and older have the opportunity to take a sneak peak into portions of these utilidors in a backstage tour. Both the Keys to the Kingdom (Magic Kingdom only) and Backstage Magic (Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios) are fantastic tours that allow guests a chance to travel into these utilidors and see what is really happening "backstage". I highly recommend both to anyone interested in learning a little more about WDW.

To book either tour, or any others that Disney offers call 407-WDW-TOUR or 407-939-8687.
