Hi, I am tossing around the idea of going to WDW in late July. My daughter will be 7 months. Is this a wise decision with her being so young?

    Hi, Larissa!

Congratulations on your new baby! You must be so excited to have  brand new princess in your home.

My son made his premier visit to Walt Disney World when he was 8 months old, and my daughter was 13 months old. Although they have each taken dozens of trips to Disney since then (both are teens now) I truly remember the details of their first trips. I treasure the wonderful photos from the character meet and greets and I still have their first Mickey Mouse ears purchased!

OK, enough of the "magical" part of it....there was also the "reality!" While I would not trade those memories for anything, you need to be ready for a challenging trip. While it is tempting to go at your usual pace, you will need to follow your little one's schedule. This means mid-day breaks for naps, and heading back to your resort by early evening for bedtime. This can be tough as you know there is a world of fun going on, but your princess is tucked into her pack and play by 8pm!

Still ready to tackle the trip? I do not blame you, I did the same thing! So be prepared when heading to the parks each day. This means: stroller, tote bag, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, hats, changes of clothes,  rattles or small toys, and any bottles/sippy cups that you are using. You will find convenient Baby Care Centers in each park for feeding and changing your daughter. I certainly spent my fair share of time in these wonderful Centers - you will love them!

Enjoy your vacation. Remember that your princess will not remember a thing from this trip, but believe me, the image of your daughter meeting Mickey for the first time will stay with you forever!
