What are the top 10 things you can do to make the most of your time while at Disney? We want to get in as much as we can without using the park hopper pass.

    Hi, Lora!

Great question, and a fantastic challenge. What I want to do, then, is to give you ten fun things to do that do not require ANY Park visits at all!

    In no particular order:

    1. Mickey's Backyard BBQ is a fun outdoor event featuring delicious food, hootin' and hollerin', and a host of your favorite Disney friends.
    2. The Chip 'n' Dale Campfire Singalong at the Fort Wilderness Campground. Live entertainment, a movie, and s'mores!
    3. Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. You'll have beautiful seating for Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant, a fabulous host, delicious refreshments, and some surprise character interactions along the way.
    4. Character dining at one of the Resorts is always a hit! Grab a reservation by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
    5. Downtown Disney! Shopping, dining, entertainment, and surprises.
    6. DisneyQuest is an arcade in Downtown Disney that offers the latest and greatest in technology. Don't miss the design-your-own roller coaster.
    7. Spend a day at the pool doing absolutely nothing, and then enjoy a nighttime movies at one of the Resorts.
    8. Hit a water park: either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.
    9. Play a round of real golf: Disney operates four championship golf courses (Lake Buena Vista, Magnolia, Osprey Ridge and Palm) plus a 9-hole family walking course (Oak Trail). Make reservations at (407) WDW-GOLF (939-4653) or book online at Or play a round of miniature golf at Winter Summerland or Fantasia: no reservations required.
    10. Try your hand at some parasailing, or skim the waters on a Sea Raycer at the Contemporary Marina.

That's just a taste of the many activities available outside of the Parks; if you'd like some suggestions  for inside the Parks, please contact me through, and I'd be glad to make another Top 10 list - or Top 20!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
