Do you have any tips for us Photography nuts and getting the best shots possible with the least amount of crowds around?

    Hi Joel!

I love your question! My husband is quite a nut - well photography nut! And I'm glad he is - he does all the hard work of finding the shots, setting exposures, and lugging tripods. I get to sit back & enjoy the finished product!

Here are my ideas to find the least crowded shots:
    • Hang out in the back of the parks until closing time & then walk towards the exit slowly. On nights that we watch illuminations at Epcot, we find a spot near Mexico or Norway. After the show, we slowly walk towards Japan, France, and Canada. We stop along the way to capture great photos of the World Showcase at night. Cast members will make sure you're heading toward an exit, but won't overly rush you out.
    • Plan an early in-park breakfast before the park opens. Reservations can be had at many character breakfasts before official park opening. While you won't have access to the full park, you may get some great shots while you stroll to your meal.
    • At resorts, plan to burn the midnight oil! Great shots of resorts can be had a few hours after midnight. Very late night (think 3 am) at the resorts can be very quiet. I've seen stunning photos of the Wilderness Lodge lobby without a single person in them. But, that requires a ton of patience and a willingness to sacrifice some sleep!
    • Be observant - where are the PhotoPass photographers located? Often they are set up to take advantage of a great back drop (I love the Expedition Everest backdrop in Animal Kingdom). Take notice and if the shot is too crowded during the day, be sure to visit it later!
    • Focus on some little details during the day. Be sure to look up, sideways, in little nooks - you'll be surprised at the great details you see. And those close-ups will often be great.
Hope you get just the shots you want!
