1st time to WDW and niece & I are shopping DD, eating @ TRex @ 3 & seeing LaNouba @ 6 and wondering if it's too much to think we could do MK after LaNouba for the ext hrs til Midnight (2/12). Best transportation for timing from DD to MK? 2 much?

How much is too much at Disney World is very much a personal judgment call. I happen to be an "early to bed, early to rise" girl. I like to be in bed by 10:00 pm, so midnight Magic Kingdom has never held much appeal for me (though I have done it on occasion). On the other hand, Moms Panelist Margaret is a huge fan of late nights in the park. They practically have to drag her out, even when the Extra Magic Hours last until 3:00 a.m.

So let's look at your plan to see where you might fall on the spectrum. To me the first part of your afternoon looks great. The "linner" (late lunch/ early dinner) at T-Rex will be sure to keep you full through your show. T-Rex is about a five or six minute walk away from the La Nouba theater. You'll have plenty of time for a leisurely meal, perhaps a bit more shopping, and then the performance. Cirque du Soleil lasts about 90 minutes. So, your show will be over at 7:30. So far, so good.

There are no direct buses from Downtown Disney to the Magic Kingdom. However, there are buses from DD to the Magic Kingdom area hotels. If you want to go to the MK, hop on a bus going to the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. From any of these spots, you can take a quick monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom. Easy peasy! By the way, the closest bus stop to LaNouba is the Pleasure Island bus area. Exit Downtown Disney near Planet Hollywood, look to your left and you'll see the signs.

Doing this, you could be at the Magic Kingdom by about 8:30. That would give you 3+ hours of quality touring time in the park. If your Disney time is limited and you want to make the most of it, then by all means go for it. However, if you have an early breakfast reservation the next day, you might want to reconsider.

Good luck with your planning and let us know if you have additional questions.
