Hello, This will be our 4th time at wdw. We love it!! We have always stayed at the moderate hotels, Caribbean, Port Orleans Riverside, and our favorite so far Port Orleans French Quarter. My questions is.... is it worth the money to upgrade? Thanks!

    Hi, Rena!

There are any number of reasons why your traveling party might want to consider an upgrade from Moderate to Deluxe.

First, there's convenience. The Deluxe Resorts have pride of place on Disney property, most of them being quite close to one of the Parks, and offering the most direct routes to the fun (the Polynesian, the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, for example, have monorail stops literally steps away from the lobby, while the Wilderness Lodge, Yacht and Beach Clubs and BoardWalk all have dedicated water launches). This makes for a very easy time getting in (and, arguably more importantly back after a long day of fun.

The amenities at Deluxe Resorts are absolutely world-class. The pools, for example, are spacious and thoughtfully-designed, each one of them in keeping with the theme of the Resort. But these pools offer more: water parks, multiple slides, in some cases, toddler areas, in some cases. I'm thinking in particular of the incredible Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club - it's a full-on water paradise!

The size of the room itself is a real selling point. Square footage increases, and with that comes more actual living space -- and, in most cases, larger beds! The Deluxe Resorts feature, at the minimum, queen-size beds with plenty of room to spare.

Finally, there's great dining all over the property, but the Deluxe Resorts offer a wider variety of cuisines and serving styles. Most of the Deluxe Resorts offer a character dining experience as well.

If you'd like, drop me a line at www.DisneyWorldMoms.com and let me know which Deluxe Resort you are considering. I'll be glad to help address your specific issues and help you make the best decision for your traveling party.

    See you later, celebrator
