1st time going to WDW & is my daughters b'day.  1st DD b'day will be when we arrive & 2nd DD b'day will have just passed.  Can I just ask for the buttons or do they need proof?  Any suggestions on how to make their b'days special?

    Hi Jennifer!

You can absolutely pick up some, "Happy Birthday" pins for your girls at Guest Relations at whichever park you visit first.  You won't need to show anything other than a smile to get the buttons!  There are many guests who celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions at Disney that don't coincide exactly on the correct date.

I have a few ideas for making your girls' Disney birthdays even more magical.  First, I'd recommend planning a celebratory character meal.  Chef Mickey's is, in my opinion, the quintessential character dining spot, and a perfect venue for a birthday party!  If your girls love all things princess, you might consider dining at Cinderella Castle, 1900 Park Fare or Akershus Princess Storybook Dining.  You might even want to pick up a tiara and/or princess sash for them to wear during their special meal!

In addition, you can order a specialty cake (which range in price from $15 for an individual princess or pirate cake, and up) by calling the Disney World Cake Hotline at  (407) 827-2253.  Cakes can be delivered directly to your table at most Disney restaurants.  If you don't want to order one ahead of time, many restaurants have small cakes available on hand, and you can simply ask at the podium when you arrive.

Finally, if you would like to bring your daughters' birthday celebrations into your resort room, you can arrange for an "in-room celebration," by visiting disneyflorist.com.  There are a variety of packages that can transform your room into a birthday wonderland!  I experienced the "Mickey and Pals Big Birthday Wish" a few months ago, and was amazed!  My room was filled with giant gift boxes from each one of the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy), balloons and a giant banner.  I had a cake from Minnie, and Donald's gift box even had feathers falling out of it!

I hope both of your girls have a magical Disney birthday!
