At the time of the visit my kids will be 22,21,16,9,7 and 4. Plus I have a grouchy penny pinching husband who wants to do this as cheap as possible even if it means ruining the experience. Any advise?

    Hi Krystle,

Greetings from a fellow mama of many Mouseketeers! To me, the most magical thing about a Disney vacation is the way that it brings loved ones of all ages and interests together. I'm sending some pixie dust that you and your family will experience that same magic during your visit!

The good news is that your husband has already given the thumbs up to planning a trip. I'd encourage you to ask him how much money he feels comfortable spending, then work from there to plan a trip that even he will enjoy. If he's nervous about spending more than your family can afford, he won't be able to relax and enjoy it, but if he agrees upon a budget and has some attractions, experiences, or meals that he's excited about experiencing with all of you, I believe that you'll see way less Scrooge McDuck and much more Olaf, Dory, and Happy. He might even end up being like Hercules, your family's very own hero!

If you're wanting to trim back your expenses without sacrificing the magic, I do have some tips. First, keep an eye on the special offers page for any discounts. Also, I'd recommend buying one park per day tickets and planning your days well to maximize the magic and fun. With lots of great perks, it really does pay to stay at a Disney Resort hotel, and two connecting Value Resort hotel rooms would be ideal for your family. After transportation, lodging, and tickets, your largest budget item is going to be food, and did you know that you're able to bring your own food and drinks with you into the theme parks? That could save you quite a bit! I would recommend purchasing a refillable popcorn bucket, though. It's the perfect delicious and affordable snack for large families!

I hope that this helps you and your entire family to have a truly magical vacation, Krystle!
