What time should I start headed to a good area of Magic Kingdom to get a good place for both the fireworks and electric night parade? And what would be that area? Also same question for the fireworks for Epcot? Thanks

Hi Sheri!  Yes, don't miss both parks great shows! Illuminations is my all time favorite!

It really depends on the time of year as to what time you should start heading to the best viewing spots. During the holidays and busy months a good hour is sometimes what you will need to do.  You can kind of gauge it by the crowds in the park on that day. I would go no less then thirty minutes before show time and more like 45 if you want the very best spots.  If you have kids have something fun to do with them while you wait and have a few snacks and drinks.  Play games and make it fun!  Main Street of course is one of the best to view the parades and I kind of like hiding back by the barber shop where you will either see the beginning of the parade or the end as it goes into the firehouse to backstage.  Any place around that circle is good and if you want a quick exit I suggest a spot in front of Tony's.  If the train station is open and not used for private viewing this is also a beautiful photo spot. Some families prefer seeing the parade in Frontierland since that is closer to where they will be doing some of the attractions but it has gotten more crowded in the last few years.  Fireworks viewing can be anywhere but the best views of entire show are in front of it.

Epcot is a little different since you can surround the water and see views from all kinds of different locations. The first thing you will want to do is to check the wind direction. You do NOT want to be viewing where the wind is blowing into as you will get all the clouds and dust particles in your face. So be aware and then head to a good spot that has full views. The bridge between France and the United Kingdom is one and Italy is another among many. The space between the two stores at the entrance to the World Showcase is great but they often have private functions in at least part of this area so be aware of that.
