This is the 1st time my husband & I will stay on resort with our kids (age 7, 2, 2). I would like to have "welcome" items in our room; but was also told I could schedule a Disney character to visit our room since this would be our 1st time.

Hello Angelia and thank you for bringing such a fun question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I'm so excited to know you and your lovely family have planned your very first magical stay at Walt Disney World Resort; you are sure to love every moment!
To the best of my knowledge Disney characters are't usually scheduled to visit Guests in their Resort rooms, however you most certainly can arrange for the lovely folks at Disney's Floral and Gifts to provide you with Mickey's Grand Welcome or a similar in-room celebration for your lucky family to enjoy.  To discuss your needs and make a purchase speak with Disney Floral and Gifts by calling 407 939 4438.
In my opinion one of the best character experiences at the Magic Kingdom Park is: Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theatre, all your young Mouseketeers are sure to enjoy the cute interactions with the Big Cheese himself.
If I can help sprinkle any extra pixie dust onto your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort please pop back to ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
