What does the ticket mean by park hopper?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Chelsie, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’d love to help you make your ticket selection for your upcoming vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth! When it comes to purchasing Theme Park Tickets, you can pick anywhere from one to five days, depending on the length of your stay. You can also choose between a Ticket with Admission to 1 Park, or a Park Hopper Ticket. The Disneyland Resort is made up of two exciting and unique theme parks – Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. And, the best part about them, is that they’re a short walk across The Esplanade from each other – no transportation needed! So, many Guests choose to “park hop” between both theme parks throughout their stay. For example, if you wanted to catch Mickey’s Soundsational Parade in Disneyland Park, but then plan on ending your night at the World of Color Dessert Party inside Disney California Adventure Park, it’s easy to do with a Park Hopper Ticket.

A helpful tool to make park hopping even easier is the Disneyland app. The app helps you access Disney MaxPass, which allows you to make digital Disney FASTPASS selections directly from your phone, which is especially helpful when you’re hopping between both parks! You can even make a selection for one park when you’re in the other! The Disneyland app is also a handy helper for checking wait times, finding favorite Characters, mobile ordering food, and making dining reservations.

You can add Disney MaxPass to your tickets while purchasing them, or you can choose to add it on a daily basis, once you’re inside the theme parks, by using the Disneyland app. MaxPass has another awesome perk, too – it includes unlimited digital downloads of your Disney’s PhotoPass Service images for each day you have it. I love using Disney PhotoPass, since it allows my entire family to get in the picture!

As you consider how many days you’ll stay and play at the Disneyland Resort, keep in mind that by purchasing a 3-Day, 4-Day, or 5-Day ticket online, you’ll be able to experience one Magic Morning early admission to Disneyland Park! Also, if you plan on staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, you’ll receive the benefit of Extra Magic Hour for each day of your stay. I highly recommend taking advantage of these early-admission options if you can! They allow you to knock out your “must-do” attractions with little to no wait first thing in the morning!

I hope this information helps you as you plan your dream Disney getaway. Please don’t hesitate to stop by with any additional questions. Happy planning!

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
