Mom With Kids After Run

Thxs Darcie! This is our 1st Disney trip and I have planned each of the 7 days Nov24-Dec1 on an excel sheet of what rides and attractions to see at each park. With kids being 6 and 12, do we need to plan to rest back at hotel? Your thoughts please! :)

Your planning methods sound eerily similar to mine, Jennifer; something tells me we'd get along just fine!

As for whether or not you need to plan for midday breaks, I think it depends upon how you intend to tour the parks.  My family is the type to rise early and take advantage of low morning crowd levels in the theme parks.  Because we get up and get going so early, we typically don't close down the parks at night.  On the rare occasions in which we do plan to stay late for fireworks or a parade, I'm sure to plan for a leisurely morning the next day.  Now, if you intend to arrive early and stay late, you'll definitely need to plan for midday breaks.  If, on the other hand, you will do one or the other, I wouldn't be overly concerned with midday breaks based on the ages of your children.  The main concern is just that you don't end up with exhausted kids, who will then be more likely to a) be every bit as grumpy as Snow White's little buddy or b) get sick.  Neither of those make for a magical vacation, so just be sure that--one way or another--your kids get plenty of rest during your trip.  If you do, everything else should fall right into place.  Enjoy!
