    Thx for the great itinerary! My in-laws (70+) will be coming from S. Carolina to stay with us (offsite) but not visiting the parks. Can you recommend a dinner location that would let them experience some of the magic? 8 total: 5 adlt, 3 girls (14,14,7)

    Michelle,

    There are really a lot of great resort restaurants that can be fun. Here are a few of my favorites, for very different reasons;

    Jiko or Boma- The first is expensive, the second a good, affordable buffet. I recommend these because the resort itself (Animal Kingdom Lodge) is a very exciting resort to explore, so maybe a good choice if they are on their own.

    California Grill - Also expensive, but my favorite restaurant. WONDERFUL food, and they can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from their table or the observation deck!

    Now if you really want them to get into the Disney thing, and if you are joining them, consider a character meal or dinner show. Here are some choices;

    Hoop Dee Doo Review - Campy western fun and great family entertainment.
    Spirit of Aloha - A Luau with average food but enchanting ambiance.
    Chef Mickey's - A great buffet with Mickey and friends to get you in a Disney mood.
    Whispering Canyon Cafe - Not a show, per se, but so much fun as the entertaining ambiance is as good as the food.

    These are just a few suggestions. If you tell me about what you might like/dislike, and how "Disney" you want the meal to be, I can come up with some other suggestions!

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
