If we have three kids, can I and my 7 yr old use Fast Pass (while wife watches 2 yr old) and then my wife take my 5 yr old (while I watch 2 yr old) and just use Rider Swap and not use a Fast Pass? Or would all 4 riders need FP+?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Gregory!

Rider Switch is going to be such a great planning tool for your family to use on your upcoming vacation since you're traveling with a toddler who doesn't quite meet the height requirements for some of the more thrilling attractions. Some families do like to use Rider Switch together with FastPass+ to save a bit more time and I'm happy to walk you through some of the finer points so you can decide if it will work well for your family.

Let's say that you and your family want to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park. Because of the ages of your kids, it's a great idea for you to split up into two riding groups so each child has someone to ride with them and your toddler is always being cared for by an adult. You and your seven-year-old would wait in the line while your wife and your five-year-old get Rider Switch entitlements added onto their MagicBands at the attraction podium. They're then free to go meet some Disney Characters, grab a snack, or take in another attraction if they want! When you and your oldest are finished riding, you can take over care of your toddler and your wife and your five-year-old can enter through the FastPass+ queue so your party doesn't end up waiting in the standby line twice. If you want to use FastPass+ in conjunction with Rider Switch, meaning that the first riding group uses a FastPass+ to bypass the standby line, then everyone who eventually plans to ride the attraction will need to have a valid FastPass+, including the second riding group. When you tap your MagicBand to receive the Rider Switch return time, the Cast Member at the attraction podium can check to make sure everyone has a FastPass+, so make sure that everything is looking good in My Disney Experience. The second riding group will still be able to access the  FastPass+ queue with the Rider Switch entitlement if the first group waits in the standby line, so keep that in mind when you're deciding if you want to use your selections in that way or if you want to save them for attractions you can all experience together.

    Have a magical day, Gregory!
