We have three children (10months, 2,4) our youngest has a rare disease and is 24/7 vent dependent and sensitive to temp changes. I have heard about the GAC card, but am now concerned about parades and firework show. We must have her stroller at all times.

    Hi Sarah,

My mother is in a wheelchair and unable to transfer out of it.  When we took her to WDW a year ago, we didn't face any difficulties and were treated wonderfully and with respect at all times.  My dad still talks about how smoothly cast members converted ride vehicles (not available with all of them, however) so we could wheel her right onto the attraction.  In fact, we still refer to them as the magical origami rides!

Disney transportation also does a fantastic job with helping to bring her wheelchair onto the buses/monorails and safely securing her.

During the parades and fireworks, there is a location for guests in wheelchairs.  A cast member at the parks can help you to know where the areas are and what time you can arrive.  You do want to try and arrive early to the locations since the space is limited, and there is the possibility that they may limit the guests that can be with your daughter.

if  you click here, you can read more about WDW and their accommodations for guests with disabilities. Included in this link is a phone number that you can contact.  I might suggest this since your daughter uses her stroller instead of a wheelchair.  I want to make sure you get the necessary GAC card to meet her needs.

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel; please let us know if we can help again.

    Wishing you  a magical trip!
