Hello  Though My family and I have been to Disney Many times this will be our first Christmas 12/21 - 12/27. I have been excited but many people have said we are crazy because the crowds are too big. Any advice for first time Christmas trip

Hello there, Lucas.  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  This Christmas will be my 3rd year in a row celebrating at Walt Disney World.  In my opinion, there is nothing better than Christmas morning at Walt Disney World.  Don't let the nay sayers worry you, I think you are going to have a magical time.

One thing I do want to point out is that, yes, it is very crowded but in such a fun way.  Especially on Christmas day, everyone is in the holiday spirit and so cheerful.  Magic Kingdom, on Christmas Day, often reaches capacity by 10 or 11 a.m.  My advice to you is arrive early at the parks all week.  Take advantage of the early extra magic hours to ride your favorite attractions before the park fills up.  I also suggest making your FastPass+ selection for the afternoon hours (like 12,1,2ish) when the parks seem more crowded.  After my family and I use our FastPass+ selections, we like to head back to our resort for an afternoon swim or just to relax before dinner.  After dinner, we like to head back to the parks for the night time extra magic hours, when it seems less crowded.  Using this system for the past few years has really worked out in our favor and we've been able to do so much during our vacation.  I also try to set the expectation that we might not be able to do every single thing we would do on a non holiday vacation because of crowds but my family is always okay with this.

Christmas at Walt Disney World is really very special.  All of the holiday decorations and the festive Cast Members really make it something magical.  I am sure you are going to have a fantastic time and make memories that will last a lifetime!  If you have any specific questions about visiting over Christmas week, I'd love for you to come back and ask me.  Happy planning!
