Thinking about visiting the first week of April next year. This happens to be over Easter weekend too. What level are the crowds during this time of year? Thank you :)

    Laurie:

Easter Weekend brings some of the biggest crowds of the year, second only in my opinion to the week between Christmas and New Year's. Although it's lovely weather--and that makes standing in long lines more bearable than summer--I tend to caution families who are not veteran Disney travelers to find another time of the year to visit. I'm not saying that you can't make it work--a crowded, even rainy day at Disney is better than one at home--but if you can manage another time away from a holiday, you'll find fewer crowds and lower prices on your resort room.

But if you find that you're locked into Easter Weekend, I recommend doing a little research at www.disneyworld.com and here at our Disney Parks Moms Panel site to decide which parks you want to visit and which FastPass+ attractions you'd like to visit. Then make dining reservations at the first opportunity at 180 days out from check-in and your FP+ selections at 60 days out from check-in. Doing as much planning in advance will help manage wait times. Once you start your vacation, commit to arriving at the parks 30 minutes before they open to see as much as you can in the mornings before the crowd thickens by lunch.

Feel free to come back and ask more planning questions the closer you get to your vacation. We're here to help!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
