    Amy from SD Asked

We are thinking about vacationing in July to Disneyland. How long are the wait times on average for the rides?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amy. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

July is a very busy time to visit the Disneyland Resort. Fret not, however, because busy times mean longer park hours at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure for Guests to enjoy.

It's hard to give average wait times for attractions. Having FastPasses will definitely speed up your wait time in line, but also taking advantage of single rider option on select attractions can greatly shorten wait time as well. For example, the listed stand-by wait time for Radiator Springs Racers during our President's Day weekend trip was 120 minutes. My children and I (*Guest must be 7 years or older for single-rider) hopped in the single rider line and we boarded our Racers within 15 minutes of waiting.

If you will be staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hour and enter one of the parks an hour early during each day of your stay. We love using this precious time to ride our favorite rides before the parks are opened to the general public. If you have a 3+ Day Ticket or a Southern California CityPASS, you have one Magic Morning which allows for early entry to Disneyland Park on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday.

Mom's Tip: Download the Disneyland mobile app and use it to search for attraction wait times (even if you're not at the parks yet). I suggest trying it out on the weekend since that tends to be a busier time. That way, you can get an idea of how long wait times may potentially be during your July trip.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Amy, and I wish you a magical trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions.

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
