    Linda from MA Asked

Thinking about a trip the first week of Sept. 09. What are the crowds like? Is it still really HOT??? Thank you.

Hi, Linda!  Typically, the first week in September is not a bad week to go in terms of crowds.  If you avoid the temporary Labor Day influx, you should find lower crowds.  Walt Disney World is offering free dining during that time frame, so that will bring more people down than you might normally find at that time of year, but most people hesitate to take their kids out of school that soon after the school year starts, so you shouldn't have much trouble with crowds.

As for HOT, not only will you find plenty of HOT, you'll find loads of HUMID!  Early September is still very much summer time in the Walt Disney World area, and you are going to need to find ways to keep cool.  We don't find the weather to be too much of a deterrent if we try to be realistic - dress for the occasion, try not to do everything, and try to alternate between an outdoor show or attraction and then an indoor one.  You'll need to stay well hydrated, too, because even for those ladies who don't sweat, but "glow", you will find yourself "glowing" a whole bunch, so keep drinking that water!

Have a great vacation, and thanks for the question!
