I am thinking of taking one of my kiddos on a Disney Cruise for his 10th birthday. Do they have any drawing classes on board the Disney Dream like the classes at Art of Animation? Thanks!

    Ahoy, Tamara!

I can't imagine a better way to celebrate a special occasion than with a Disney Cruise Line vacation. What an amazing gift of magic and memories for your son's birthday!

While events planned for each sailing are always changing and evolving, I can tell you that on my most recent Disney Cruise, there were several animation activities for kids in the Youth Clubs. One session called "Disney Animation: Creating a Character" was offered several times in the Oceaneer Club, as well as "Disney Animation: Cartoon Physics", held in the Oceaneer Lab. At the age of 10, your son would fall in the age group to participate in these activities in the Oceaneer Club/Lab, for kids ages 3-12.

Each day, you'll be given a Personal Navigator, a daily schedule with times and locations for events on the ship, where you'll be able to see all of the activities in the Youth Clubs. I also encourage you to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App on your smartphone. With the app, you can access cruise information such as activities, menus, weather and more, as well as connect with others through the onboard chat feature. My most-used feature in the app is being able to save my "favorite" activities for quick reference throughout the day!

Disney Cruise Line sometimes has guest illustrators/artists onboard that will hold animation presentations for all ages. Make sure to check your Personal Navigator for any special events that may be happening on your particular sailing.

I hope this helps with your planning. Have a magical day, and please let us know if you have any more questions! - Diane W.
