hi! we are thinking of taking our little boy to celebrate his 3rd birthday in may on the cruise. we are having a hard time figuring out which is the best for our family and also what activities best suit him and also us as a couple. thanks!

    Hi, Christian!

Birthdays are great occasions to celebrate on a Disney cruise, and your little prince is going to have the time of his little life on board!

For next spring, you have several options for taking a family vacation on board Disney Cruise Line. My best advice is to first determine when in May you would like to sail -- that may narrow things down a bit for you. In addition, you'll also want to research the cost and method by which you'll travel to a home port. For instance, Port Canaveral is closest to my home, but sometimes I can get less expensive and more direct flights to New York City. Therefore, you'll want to see what all your options are for traveling to the various home ports.

All four of the Disney ships in the fleet should be sailing by the time you would like to sail. However, with all the current talk of the two newest ships (Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy), the less expensive fares and available stateroom categories may be in greater supply on the newer itineraries -- Alaska, Pacific Coast and New York to the Bahamas. For me and my family, we would prefer to experience a longer cruise to a unique destination, and we have found that the Bahamian, the Caribbean and the Alaskan ports of call to be family-friendly for the various ages in our family.

So, take a look at the Find a Cruise Page on the DisneyCruise.com site and explore all your possibilities. You'll find just the right itinerary, stateroom category and dates to fit your expectations, and if you have more pointed questions, I'd be happy to help. You know where to find me!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
