I am thinking of staying at the coronado resort and I am wondering how that one ranks compared to the port orleans resort.

    Hi, Laurie!

Both of those Resorts are in the Moderate class, so they will be roughly equivalent in terms of amenities. The main difference I think you'll find is in theming..

Coronado Springs, according to Disney, "celebrates the character and traditions of the American Southwest and northern Mexico," while both Port Orleans Resorts - Riverside and French Quarter - are inspired by beautiful rural and urban Louisiana. Note that Riverside is now booking for Royal Rooms, based on favorite characters, and slated to open in February 2012.

Both Coronado Springs and Port Orleans offer a food court area, shopping, Whichever Resort you choose, you will a pool complex with a waterslide, and an on-land playground.

Coronado Springs is a convention facility, and offers 1,917 Guest rooms. Port Orleans Riverside has 2,048 Guest rooms, while French Quarter has 1,000 Guest Rooms. Both Coronado Springs and Riverside are set up as sprawling complexes, with Guests needing to cross a bridge over the river to access the food court, shops, etc.  The French Quarter is built on much smaller, more intimate grounds .

Whichever Resort you choose, you will be treated to the world-class atmosphere and service that Disney as famous for. How can you go wrong?

    See you later, celebrator!
