I am thinking about staying at the Cabins in August. My daughters think it is going to be busy. Has anyone every stayed there?

Hi Cindy! When guests talk about summer vacations at Walt Disney World I just want them to know about Florida summer weather. It is hot, humid, and rainy so prepare for it and plan for those kinds of conditions. The average temperature is 92 and it is the second hottest month of the year and the second wettest and add that humidity and you will want to worry more about keeping cool then crowds.

As far as crowds go August is a month that is hard to predict. Generally, if you wait and go mid month to the end of the month the crowds will be less as so many kids are heading back to school. Of course it is hard to judge which week will be the best but just avoid the beginning and you should be fine.

The Fort Wilderness Cabins are a great place to stay. You will have lots of privacy as each cabin stands alone. They are air conditioned and surrounded by many trees giving you much needed shade. There is one bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds and one bath. They also include a fully equipped kitchen, a queen sofa bed, dining table, deck with picnic table, and grill. Housekeeping is included even though you are in a campground. Fort Wilderness has many activities for all ages from horseback riding to canoeing. There are two pools, two trading posts, Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong, Hoop Dee Doo RevueMickey's Backyard BBQ, and Trails End Restaurant.
