We are thinking of purchasing a membership at hilton head but are afraid we won't be able to get reservations in orlando. How hard is it to make a resevation outside of your home resort?

Hi Charlotte! Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is one of our favorite vacation destinations. This picturesque island is just a few hours away for us so it's perfect for quick getaways - we too have considered purchasing there because we've had wonderful visits.

Not to worry, you'll be able to book vacations at Walt Disney World Resort if your home resort is Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. The BEST thing about your Disney Vacation Club membership is the freedom and flexibility to customize your vacation experience every time. That means you can reserve accommodations at your non-home resort up to 7 months in advance of your check-in date.

Our home resort is Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village but we visit Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort all the time! Everything is subject to availability of course, but if you start trying when your eligibility window begins you should be fine. It all comes down to planning.

Wishing you many years of magical and memorable Disney vacations!
