We are thinking of planning a trip to WDW on 4/2-4/6 2013. What can we expect for weather and crowds? Also, what would be the best package for a trip on a budget? Do we include meal package etc? My children's ages are 4 and 8. There will be 5 of us.

    Hi, Amy!

Early April is a great time of year to head to Walt Disney World! What a treat!

According to weather.com, the average April high is 83, with the average low at 59. Of course, I've been there that time of year when it's quite chilly at night or in the early morning, as well as when it's really very warm during the daytime. At that time of year, I'll pack shorts and T-shirts for the warm days, a light jacket for the chilly mornings, then long pants and heavier jackets for the evenings. We bring those expandable, inexpensive gloves, too, when the forecast calls for a possible cold snap. Check weather.com as you pack your bags, as temps do vary from time to time.

Regarding the best package on a budget? Take a look at your options on WDW's webpage, selecting Value Resorts for your stay. Once you get a quote on lodging and tickets, no park hoppers needed. Then add one of the Dining Plans to see what the additional cost will be. While we always book a Dining Plan due to the value it offers us, take a look at what types of meals you'll be eating while there. Using the menus on WDW's website for Table-Service locations, and pricing posted on the unofficial site allears.net for Quick-Service restaurants, you can estimate what you'd spend on food and compare that cost to the added cost of the Dining Plan.

Take a look at "Rooms for 5 Guests or More," under "Places to Stay" which will help you find those that can accommodate your family in one room.

Send more questions as you research and for specifics on crowds; I'd love to help!
