We are thinking about getting an annual pass for January 2019 ... if we purchase it on line in November 2018 is that the date used for our renewal date or is it from our first use in January...

    Hi Alison,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Making the leap to purchase an Annual Pass several years ago was one of the best decisions I made in terms of my Walt Disney World Resort vacations.  There are so many different options available to Annual Passholders, including fantastic discounts and fun events as well.

When you purchase your Annual Pass it will show up in My Disney Experience, but it will not activate until you first set foot in a Walt Disney World Theme Park.  That means that your year will begin on the first day you enter a Theme Park, which will also be your renewal date.  Since your Annual Pass will be in your My Disney Experience Account, you will also be able to make FastPass+ Selections, if needed.

If you are planning on visiting Walt Disney World Resort multiple times during the year it makes sense to upgrade to an Annual Pass, so that you save on the cost of Theme Park Tickets.  In addition to that, Annual Passholders have special discounts on Resort Hotel Reservations, as well as merchandise and food discounts.  My favourite perk is that with your Annual Pass, Memory Maker and all of the photos in your account will be available to you at no extra cost.  I love pictures so this is well worth it for my family!

Making the decision to purchase Annual Passes was a great savings for my family.  I hope it works for you as well!  Please let us know if you have any more questions, we are always happy to help.
