Thinking about do a four night cruise the first week of 3/2014. The Magic sailing is cheaper than the Dream sailing. Is the Dream a better ship? I'm a grad student so I'm on a budget. How will the crowds/weather be? Warm enough for Castaway I hope? Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Danielle! Isn't it exciting to consider booking your very first Disney Cruise? I'll tell you what, even after booking quite a few of them, I still get excited looking forward to the next sailing!

No matter which Disney ship my family chooses to sail on, we have amazing, magical vacations. The Dream is not a better ship, but a newer ship than the Magic. It is also much larger, so there are extra offerings onboard than you'll find on the smaller ships. That being said, the Magic and the Wonder are my favorite ships because I like the more intimate atmospheres we've experienced there with less guests. Have you heard about all of the new renovations that will be taking place on the Disney Magic this fall? The Magic is Disney's first ship, and it will be completely re-imagined, bringing even more amazing touches for its guests come late October this year. I cannot wait to experience it. It's almost like a brand new ship is about to debut!

If you find a Magic sailing for less than the Dream sailing, I'd have no hesitations at all about booking it. You'll be in for a very special cruise with all of the amazing Disney service which you've come to expect at the parks!

Crowds aren't really an issue on the ship as there is always so much happening all over the ship. Only during a couple of the Deck Parties will you ever see the majority of the guests all in one spot. We've been on fully sold out cruises and never felt crowded, so don't worry about that. The weather is normally gorgeous and summer-like all year long in the Bahamas and Caribbean, with temperatures in the 70's and 80's even in the winter. My family has sailed at all times of the year and always found the temperatures to be beautiful!

I hope that helps as you consider this cruise, Danielle! I'd love to help if you have any further questions before you set sail!
