Mom With Kids After Run

Hello! Thinking about doing the WDW 1/2marathon with my mom in 2015. If we have friends who are not running will they be able to take pictures with the characters with us once we cross the finish line? or do we need to purchase the Chear squad for that?

    Hi, Anissa!

It's so exciting to hear you are interested in running the 2015 Walt Disney World Half Marathon with your mom, runDisney race events are even more magical when you have someone to run with.

Most character photo opportunities will be on the course while you are running, and the characters you see right at the finish line will not be accessible to anyone but those running through the finish line chute. However, there is usually a character photo stop near the stage in the Family Reunion Area- you and your friends are more than welcome to utilize this photo opportunity, but keep in mind, characters in this location are not always guaranteed.

Another consideration is to purchase the Race Retreat option. This is an exclusive tent set up in the Family Reunion Area where your friends can wait in the comfort of a climate-controlled environment, featuring a breakfast, live video feed of the finish-line, and character greeting opportunities. It really is a great way to wait in style while you and your mom are running.

I hope this information is helpful, Anissa! Please do not hesitate to ask any additional runDisney questions you may have. I am here to help make your race experience magical.

    Have a great day!
