Hi we are thinking we'll be in Disney for 11 days, 7 at the parks 4 off I am wondering if you c an eat at the parks on days your not using your tickets if we get the meal plan? If not how can we use the plan or is it not worth it? Thanks!!

    Hi, Nina!

Yeah!  An eleven day vacation in Walt Disney World sounds awesome.  You are going to get to see and do so much!  On your days off, schedule some fun activities like parasailing or a day at the spa.  It will be a nice diversion from you park days.

You will need a park ticket if you plan to enter a park for any reason, including dining.  However, you can use your dining credits anywhere on property:  in the Water Parks, resort hotels, or even fun dinner shows.  Some of the best dining can be found outside the parks, so let me know if you need dining suggestions.

Let me give you just one more bit of information:  I do not know what type of ticket you have, but to go from a 7 day base ticket to a 10 day base ticket is only about $30 (plus tax, prices can change) so if you think you might want to pop into a park for a late dinner or to catch a nighttime show, you might want to add a few days to your tickets.

So back to your original question:  Is the dining plan worth it?  I think it is if you plan to enjoy dining during your vacation.  If you are not big eaters and just grab a quick hot dog every now and then, then just pay as you go.  My family enjoys the fun restaurants and we find that a table service meal each day is great time to relax and take a breath from all the activity.  Plus, with the dining plan, you get lots of snacks and desserts, and that is a good thing, right?!

Whatever you decide, enjoy your extended WDW vacation!
