Thinking about a day trip to the Magic Kingdom, have a family member that is ill, is there any kind of "hospitality house" in the park, where he can go to rest while the rest of us can continue on?

    Hi GLC,

Unfortunately there is no hospitality house in the park. There are a number of cool, indoor attractions which are very relaxing (Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress), but these are only about 15-20 minutes in duration and are not really appropriate for a long term rest.

You would be welcome to have your family member "camp out" in any of the counter service restaurants in the park. These have air conditioning and easy access to restrooms. Even without a medical need, I've often spent an hour or two just sitting with a cool drink at a counter service restaurant in the park, reading a book or people watching.

Another alternative would be to have your family member rest in the lobby of one of the Magic Kingdom area resorts. The Grand Floridian is particularly beautiful and often has a live pianist in the lobby entertaining guests. You're welcome to sit there for as long as you like.

I hope this gives you some ideas. Please let us know if you need more information.
