Thinking about coming to WDW from 12/19-12/26/15. Very concerned about the crowds/lines, etc @ that time of yr. We really want to come during that time but need to know what we can honestly expect @ that time of yr.

Hello Sue!  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We visited Walt Disney World over those travel dates last year and have already made a reservation to do it again this year.
Christmas is the biggest holiday celebrated at Walt Disney World and it is amazing.  We enjoyed our trip so much.  The decor and ambiance is like none other, it really put us in the Christmas spirit.  At the beginning of the week, I was surprised at how quickly we were moving through lines but by December 22nd I could really tell the parks were starting to get very busy.  Christmas Day is by far the busiest with the park usually reaching maximum capacity by around lunch time.  On our trip, I made sure we visited the Parks that offered Extra Magic Hours in the mornings.  We were able to ride several of our favorite attractions with little to no wait first thing in the morning before the park opened to the general public.  I scheduled our FastPass+ reservations for the afternoon, when the parks tend to be busier, so we could ride our favorites again. That worked out really well for us.

I think expectation is everything.  I went in to our vacation knowing we might not get to do everything we wanted to do.  We were okay with that though because we really wanted to be there over Christmas to experience it.  I was pleasantly surprised with how much we were able to check off of our must do list.  We loved visiting over Christmas so much we are doing it again this year.  It is a busy time of year, but it is so magical.  I  think everyone should experience it as least once.

If you have any specific questions about visiting Walt Disney World over Christmas, please let me know.  Have a great day.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
