We are thinking about coming down to Disneyland the first weekend in December. Can you tell me about the crowd size and what might be happening during that time? We are really excited to see all the holiday decorations.

    Hi, Cori!

I'm so glad you're planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort this holiday season! December is one of my favorite months to visit and enjoy all the theme parks have to offer that time of year. The seasonal decorations, events, merchandise, attractions and food items make The Happiest Place on Earth even more delightful! Early December is a wonderful time to visit because crowds aren't usually too heavy, but all of the seasonal extras are in full swing. By mid-December, park attendance typically begins to pick up, and the resort is at its busiest by the week of Christmas.

You won’t want to miss the Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday attractions, and the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks show’s finale of snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. is a must-see. On the “Holiday Time at Disneyland” Tour, you can hear holiday tales from Disneyland Park history, experience seasonal attractions and watch A Christmas Fantasy Parade from a reserved viewing area while enjoying a delicious treat and warm beverage. Please call (714) 781-TOUR (8687) to reserve your spot up to one month in advance.  I’m also really excited about a show coming to Disney California Adventure Park called “World of Color—Winter Dreams,” a nighttime water spectacular that will bring all-new and amazing animation to Paradise Bay.

Be sure to try my favorite dessert at the Disneyland Resort, the Yule Log cake at Plaza Inn restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A. It's only available during the holidays and is made of chocolate and cream swirl cake with a layer of ganache on the outside that’s decorated to resemble wood bark. I look forward to enjoying this indulgent treat all year long!

I hope this information is helpful, Cori. Please write back with more questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted holiday vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
