We are thinking about coming April of 2018. We will be staying off Disney Property, which is different for me since every time previous, I have stayed on the property. Once we purchase our tickets, will we have the options the extras like Chef Mickey Break

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this excellent question!

I always say that if the options are between staying on-property versus staying off-property, the former is by far the best choice as there are several Benefits of Staying at a Disney Resort hotel. However, if the choices involve staying off-property and not being able to visit the Walt Disney World Resort at all, then by all means staying off property is the way to go. So there's really no need to feel disappointed. After all, you are going to Disney!

The above being said, there are some differences to consider when planning your off-property stay while visiting the Disney Parks. First of all, you can make FastPass+ reservations 30 days in advance of each theme park visit day, but this must be done one-day-at-a-time. So, be sure to link your tickets ahead of time via your My Disney Experience account.

As an off-property Guest you won't have access to Extra Magic Hours. You will however, be able to secure advanced dining reservations at the 180 days mark. So by all means, do book that much coveted Chef Mickey's breakfast as soon as possible.

You will be able to use the Resort Transportation system. However, you won't be able to reserve Disney's Magical Express®. Depending on where you will be staying, consider renting a vehicle. You may be especially grateful for it at the end of the day.

I hope you found this information useful, Julie. Please come back to visit us with all your questions. We would love to help you discover the true Power of Magic.
