Which do you think our teens (girl, age 16 & boy age 14) would like better, the Fort Wilderness Cabins (or resort) or the Caribbean? Our kids have never been to Disney and my husband & I only visited Epcot for one day before. Any don't miss things

Hi, Denise! Deciding between Fort Wilderness Cabins and a room at Caribbean Beach Resort for teens is really going to come down to their personalities (and maybe a final practical decision on your part). Let me describe the pros and cons of each according to my teens and me:

    • CBR is a moderate resort with comfortable amenities and reasonable rates for a family budget. For my teens, they love the variety of options at the resort's food court and that many of the sports teams from the ESPN complex stay there. It's definitely a "see and be seen" kind of scene for teens!
    • Because many CBR guests are from teams/groups, I think the resort is looking a little tired, and the resort is too expansive for me and not close enough to any of the parks.
    • Although the rates for a Fort Wilderness Cabin are more, there is a living/dining/kitchen area which helps cut down on food costs and time spent eating in the parks.
    • For my teens, they love the variety of outdoor activities including horseback riding, fishing, boat rentals, campfires, bikes and nature trails. They love to ride bikes (or take a golf cart) down to the beach and watch the fireworks or the Electrical Water Pageant.
    • There are also 2 great dining venues there that are on most guidebooks' lists of not to miss: the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue & Mickey's Backyard BBQ.
    • The Cabins are more spacious than a hotel room but are still like a travel trailer (narrow hallway, small bedroom and little closet space). Yet, having a kitchen and the outdoor deck helps to get over that aspect of it. The Fort is expansive as well, but the Magic Kingdom is only a boat ride away.
Hopefully, this helps you narrow down your choice to pick just the right resort for you and your family to suit needs and personalities. Come back if I can help further.  Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
