Do you think Soarin' is okay for a 4 and 6 year old? The Disney site calls it a teenage attraction. I don't want my kids to be scared. Thanks! I love the panel and read everyday.

    Kim,

In general I think Soarin' would be fine for many 4-year-olds, as it is a fairly gentle ride, but what makes kids scared differs tremendously from kid to kid.  If you have the time, I'd recommend you try the attraction by yourself first, so you can make your own informed decision.

Some of the things that could scare kids include: parts that are in the dark, sensation of being high off the ground (the top row is about 25 feet off the ground, the bottom row is about 10 feet off the ground, but the movie makes you feel like you are much higher off the ground), and loud noises (jets flying by, for example).

I can tell you that my 4-year-old daughter, who used to be scared of anything other than Dumbo and Small World, rode Soarin' for the first time in September (she was almost 4 at the time) and absolutely loved it.  She had the biggest smile I'd ever seen on her throughout the entire ride.  When we returned to WDW in December, she insisted on riding Soarin' several more times.  But, your mileage may vary! ;-)

    Hope that helps.
