Do you think it is necessary to go back to the rental for a nap/quiet time with an 11, 7, and 3 year old?

Hello Trina, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  While I don't think it's absolutely necessary to return to your resort for some down-time, I personally think for many families it can be essential in insuring that everyone enjoys their vacation.  Some kids are like bunnies, and keep going and going, while others wear out quite quickly.  Only you know how much activity your kids can handle before needing to have quiet time.  Sometimes, it's Mom and Dad that need the quiet time (and I'm referring to myself here!).   A swim in the pool, or a quick nap can be exactly what is needed to revive the family for a return to the parks in the evening - therefore being able to enjoy evening parades or fireworks to the fullest.

You may just need to play it by "ear", and see how your first day in the theme parks goes.  Then you will know the level of activity that your family can handle before needing a time-out.  I wish you all a very fun and magical Walt Disney World vacation, and please don't hesitate to ask me if you have any other questions.  It would be my pleasure to answer them for you!
